He convened a group of powerful wizards who shared his vision, forming the Horadrim to create a method for imprisoning Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal should they ever return to threaten humanity. The order achieved this through the creation of Soulstones, magical vessels capable of trapping demonic essence. However, maintaining these seals required constant vigilance. As centuries passed, the Horadrim faced betrayal from within and manipulation by those who sought power over protection. The corruption of the Black Soulstone marked a turning point where their greatest weapon became their undoing. Eventually, the brotherhood fractured. Baal was imprisoned in the Tal Rasha's tomb in the desert of Lut Gholein, not at Mount Arreat—though Mount Arreat later became the site where Baal attempted to corrupt the Worldstone. Mephisto was sealed in the Temple of Light beneath Kurast, but the order itself was founded long before that battle. Deckard Cain emerged as a living link to this past, carrying the weight of their history and ensuring their sacrifices were not forgotten in the ongoing war between Heaven and Hell.
